Fun Water Activities

Awesome Water Activities That Are Sure To Make a Splash
Water activities provide an excellent opportunity for children to engage in physical exercise and develop their motor skills. Participating in water activities introduces children to essential water safety skills from an early age. They learn about the importance of wearing life jackets, understanding water currents, and practicing safe behaviors in and around water bodies.

Moreover, as children gain confidence in the water, they become more independent and self-assured. That said, remember to prioritize safety and supervision when engaging in water activities. Ensure children are supervised and take necessary precautions, such as using life jackets for activities near deeper water or pools.

To help you make a splash in your child’s life this summer, here are some fun water activities you must try.

Water Balloon Toss
This game can be fun with both family and friends. Fill up water balloons and have a friendly toss game. Kids can partner up and take turns tossing the balloons to each other without them bursting.

Sprinkler Fun
Sprinklers can be an excellent way to beat the heat and have some fun. Set up a sprinkler in your backyard and let the kids run through it. They can play games, dance, or simply enjoy the refreshing water.

Water Limbo
Use a hose or a sprinkler to create a stream of water, and have the kids take turns trying to limbo under it without getting wet. You can lower the stream each round to increase the challenge.

Slip ‘n Slide
Slides are an endless source of fun, especially for kids. Set up a slip ‘n slide in your yard using a plastic tarp, some water, and a gentle slope. Kids can slide down and have a blast while staying cool.

Water Gun Tag
Tag with a water gun is best played with a group of friends. Give each child a water gun and let them play a game of tag. They can chase each other around and try to squirt one another to “tag” them.

Sponge Relay Race
Divide the kids into teams and set up a relay race where they have to pass a soaked sponge over their heads or under their legs to the next person in line. The first team to finish wins. Quite simple but fun, isn’t it?

Water Obstacle Course
Create an obstacle course in your backyard using various water-related challenges. For example, include a mini pool for wading through, a sprinkler to jump over, and a bucket to fill and pour over themselves.

Water Painting
If you are looking to keep your kids busy in an artistic manner, water painting is a great option. Give the kids large paintbrushes and a bucket of water. Let them “paint” the walls or pavement using the water. It’s a mess-free way to have artistic fun.

Pool Noodle Boat Race
Cut pool noodles in half lengthwise and let the kids race their noodle boats in a kiddie pool or a larger body of water. They can blow on the sail or use their hands to propel the boats.

Water Bubble Wrap Stomp
Lay out a sheet of bubble wrap, spray it with water, and let the kids jump on it to make a satisfying popping sound.

BEST DAY CAMP IN FORT LAUDERDALE
Summer heat in Florida can be intense and is often characterized by high temperatures and high humidity. Allowing your children to participate in water activities can help them beat the summer heat while making new friends and long-lasting memories.

If you are looking to give your child a day filled with various entertaining and educational activities that include water activities, Camp Live Oak is the best place to do so. At our camp, kids can enjoy paddle boating, fishing, surfing, swimming, and more. If you’d like to enroll your child in our summer camp, we’d love to hear from you!
